Sammy's Wild World of Nature
I don't want to stifle my daughter's creativity but I wonder if I need to channel it more productively somehow. See what happens when my daughter obviously unsupervised and showing off in front of her playmate creates her own documentary of Sammy's Wild World of Nature as the director, actor, and photographer all in one. (don't watch too closely I don't want you to get motion sickness)
One take was not enough, she wanted to keep making movies even after I took the camera away. However, I made her a deal that if she would write down her script and practice it first, then I would be her photographer so she could make her movie.
Sammy's Wild World of Nature take 2 thru 13 coming soon:

Mini Silhouettes
Sammy performed in Hunter High School' s Drill Team Silhouette showcase. This three day dance class and one night performance is just the right amount of time for my little dancer.

Sammy probably enjoyed the wearing makeup more than anything. Thanks go out to my Mom for getting Sammy ready in time since I was at work. And I must also thank Jenny and her family for saving seats for us in the very crowded gym.

Fairy Tea Party
The Provo City Library holds an annual Fairy Tea Party and this year Sammy and I were able to attend thanks to my dear friend Debbie, who stood in line for hours to get us tickets.

Everyone was encouraged to dress up for the event and Sammy said she wanted to attend the party as "Fairy Bo Peep" so we dressed her up in her Halloween costume and found some wings to accessorize.
The Fairy Tea party consisted of the Presentation of the Fairy King and his court, a manners class, a Fairy Promenade for all those who dressed up and a ballet performance. We also dined on strawberries, cookies, cheese.

Divine Comedy - BYU
Sure I said the next post was going to be about the cruise, but that's hundreds of photos to sort through. My story about Divine Comedy at BYU only has two.
Divine Comedy is an improv comedy troupe performed by BYU students on the BYU campus. It's probably the only comedy act that begins with a prayer to help the performers remember their lines. Oh the memories of my days at Ricks College.

This is me and Christie making Matt and his Jacob Black hair pose with us. Divine Comedy did a spoof on Twilight that had us in stiches. The vampires went to BYU and the werewolves were from UVU (hence the ability to have longer hair).
See the picture of Brett with the neon orange necklace? Who knew BYU has rave parties? The waitress at Chilis gave him all sorts of weird looks.

Divine comedy provides light sticks and candy for the crowd inbetween skits. We had a great time. Thanks to Christie's brother Scott for standing in line to get us the tickets and also for saving us a spot in line.

Where have we been you ask..
It's been crazy what with the freak'n holidays, baby hamsters, birthdays and vacation planning going on. You name it we are probably doing it. Here's a few highlights of the pictures in my camera since we announced Remy was having babies.
Darwinians Survival of the Fittest hamster pups include: Silly, Spotty, Fluffy, Oddball and the runt Hunter.
We know for sure that two additional babies didn't make it. One Brett and I discovered and disposed of, the other...well let's just say the babies weren't getting enough "protein" from their Mommy.
.

Sammy had quite a run in with the Tooth fairy lately.

Christmas was fun but I'm glad it's over. Sammy of course wishes it could be Christmas everyday.
I didn't take any pictures from our New Year's Eve party at the Hardey's with the Youngs but they blogged about it so it's been recorded for prosperity somewhere in cyberspace. We had a blast though ringing in the new year with an all night Wii party.
I had a great birthday! Brett didn't surprise me with a Wii Fit. (Stink'n Best Buy sold it out from underneath his sneaky little plan). Instead he brought home this amazing 42" LCD Wide screen TV. Now we can watch TV, Movies, and Wii games in color and not just all white. I love you Brett and your spur of the moment purchases.
Looking forward to a great 2009. How about you?
Check back later for highlights from our Caribbean Cruise January 30-February 8, 2009. Sunny Beaches here we come!
